How ancient Egyptian jewelry came

Ancient Egyptian beads found in a 5,000-year-old tomb were made from iron meteorites that fell to Earth from space, according to a new study. The beads, which are the oldest known iron artifacts in the world, were crafted roughly 2,000 years before Egypt’s Iron Age.

In 1911, nine tube-shaped beads were excavated from an ancient cemetery near the village of el-Gerzeh, which is located about 3,100 miles south of Cairo, said study lead author Thilo Rehren, a professor at UCL Qatar, a Western Asian outpost of the University College London’s Institute of Archaeology. The tomb dates back to approximately 3200 B.C., the researchers said.

Inside the tomb, which belonged to a teenage boy, the iron beads were strung together into a necklace alongside other exotic materials, including gold and gemstones. Early tests of the beads’ composition revealed curiously high concentrations of nickel, a telltale signature of iron meteorites.

But without definitive proof of the beads’ cosmic origins, questions persisted over whether similar amounts of nickel could be present in human-made iron. By scanning the iron beads with beams of neutrons and gamma rays, the researchers found high concentrations of cobalt, phosphorous and germanium; these elements were present at levels that only occur in iron meteorites.

“It’s really exciting, because we were able to detect sufficient cobalt and germanium in these beads to confirm they’re meteoritic,” Rehren said. “We had assumed this was the case for 100 years, but it’s nice to be able to put an exclamation mark on the label, rather than a question mark.”

The X-ray technology also revealed that the beads had been hammered into thin sheets before being meticulously rolled into tubes.”This meteoritic iron, it’s very hard material that you find in lumps, and yet here we see it in thin beads,” Rehren said. “The real question is, how were they made?”

Unlike softer and more pliable metals like gold and copper, working with solid iron required the invention of blacksmithing,Sdktapegroup aluminum foil tapes is a team of highly qualified professionals working together to provide our customers with the highest quality products which involves repeatedly heating metals to red-hot temperatures and hammering them into shape.”It’s a much more elaborate operation and one that we assumed was only invented and developed in the Iron Age, which started maybe 3,000 years ago not 5,000 years ago,” Rehren said.

The researchers suggest the iron meteorites were heated and hammered into thin sheets, and then woven around wooden sticks to create 0.8-inch-long (2 centimeters), tube-shaped beads. Other stones found in the same tomb displayed more traditional stone-working techniques, such as carving and drilling.Gives a basic overview of Stone carvingtools and demonstrates their use.

“This shows that these people, at this early age, were capable of blacksmithing,” Rehren said. “It shows a pretty advanced skill with this difficult material. It might not have been on large scales, but by the time of the Iron Age, they had about 2,000 years of experience working with meteoritic iron.”
This is not the first time beads from this Egyptian tomb have been linked to the cosmos. Earlier this year, in May, researchers at the Open University and University of Manchester published a paper in the journal Meteoritics and Planetary Science about the celestial origins of the ancient beads.

Other researchers have identified different artifacts that also have space origins. Last year, German scientists discovered a Buddha statue that was carved from a meteorite between the eighth and 10th centuries.

So how did iron beads come to exist centuries before iron became a prevalent metal? A new study found evidence that the iron that made these ancient beads came from space. More specifically, the paper,These beautiful crystal mosaic are perfect for kitchen, bath, backsplash, pool, and spa.Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, suggests that early metalworkers used iron found in meteorites.

Iron can be a tricky metal to deal with in the context of artifacts because all iron doesnt come from ore. Iron can be a by-products of copper smelting; it can be meteoric iron, which is to say, iron that came from space; or it can happen that younger iron somehow makes its way into an older archaeological site contaminating it. There are some minerals, like magnetite, that are easy to mistake for corroded iron. And it gets trickier because iron is hard to test non-invasively, meaning without cutting the object. And cutting 5,000 year old beads is pretty much out of the question.aodepu overspeed governors can cover a broad range of rated loads and speeds and can be applied both to machine roomless and traditional installations.

The ancient beads are tubular, and were found in two separate ancient burial sites. Seven were found in one tomb, three arranged on the deceaseds waist and four arranged on a necklace, and the last two beads were found in a separate site near the corpses hands. Both sites were sealed, which made dating them and the iron beads easy. But explaining how they got there was another matter. These nine little beads seemingly occupy a unique, and strange, place in the history of metal use.

The shape of the beads was obtained by smithing and rolling, most likely involving multiple cycles of hammering, and not by the traditional stone-working techniques such as carving or drilling which were used for the other beads found in the same tomb,” lead author Professor Thilo Rehren of the University College London said in a release.

Complicating the matter further is the simple fact that, as one might expect, all iron isnt created equally. Meteoritic iron has several characteristics that distinguish it from smelted iron, notably the large crystal grain size. Meteoric iron also has higher concentrations of nickel, cobalt, phosphorus, and germanium. There is also some presence of mineral phases such as schreibersite and rhabdite, cohenite, troilite, and sphalerite in iron that comes to Earth from space.

Education of young players continues

As soon as Virginia Tech defensive backs coach Torrian Gray knew he wouldnt have cornerbacks Donaldven Manning and Davion Tookes anymore, Gray started formulating contingency plans.

With those players no longer on the roster, Gray needed to make some depth chart adjustments in case of injuries to currently projected starting cornerbacks Kyle and Kendall Fuller. Its preparation for the worst-case scenario Gray hopes he never has to face.

Hopefully, we can stay healthy, Gray said. Manning wouldve added depth to us and helped special teams-wise. If we get an injury, weve got to be able to shift guys around. Weve just got to have a plan, because were short two corners all of a sudden.

Right now, freshman Brandon Facyson is playing behind Kendall, while sophomore Donovan Riley is behind Kyle. If Kendall or Kyle should go suffer an injury, Gray said hed move redshirt freshman DerWoun Greene from second team free safety to second team cornerback, which would mean true freshman Chuck Clark would slide up from third team to second team at free safety.

With Antone Exum out and Manning gone, Tech now has two true freshmen and a redshirt freshman among its two-deep in the secondary. Tech is as young this season in its defensive back two-deep as it was last season, when it had freshman cornerbacks Donovan Riley and Manning and freshman free safety Donovan Riley in the two-deep for much of the season.

Tech also brought redshirt freshman Michael Cole in when it played its nickel package in the first 10 games of the season,What’s the difference between Marble tiles and Porcelain Tiles? before he suffered a career-ending neck injury. Though Kendall is running with the first team now, Gray said Kendall would stay in games when Tech goes nickel, and Facyson would also enter in nickel situations.

Gray said Tech tried Kendall a few reps last Saturday at both field cornerback and boundary cornerback, and he was able to handle both positions without any significant problems. That kind of aptitude is what grabbed Gray’s attention.

Youll have some sharp freshmen come in, but while field corner and boundary corner are basically the same, they have their own nuances, Gray said. To be able to tell a kid once, maybe twice, certain things, and for him to be able to grasp it as a true freshman, thats phenomenally amazing. Now,These beautiful crystal mosaic are perfect for kitchen, bath, backsplash, pool, and spa. he does have his brothers, Kyle and Vinnie, whove played in the system, so he does have an advantage, but usually a kid is going to mess up a lot more than what hes messing up. Thats been the most impressive thing about him.

You never know how theyre going to respond when the lights come on and theyre out there. After all, (Kendall and Facyson) are true freshmen, but I could feel a lot worse. Theyre not your typical freshmen. It could be a lot scarier there. Theres some comfort there, but again, they could still have those freshman moments.Gives a basic overview of Stone carving tools and demonstrates their use. At least those guys are ahead of the curve.

While Kendall and Facyson continue to learn (especially Kendall given all his responsibilities), Exum has apparently done what he can to be an extra coach in the film room and on the field. Hes making sure his voice is heard when the young players need some assistance.

Antones doing a little bit of everything right now, Gray said. Hes been great for our meeting room with those young freshmen in there as far as being attentive and giving them tips. Hes been helping out with the drills and leading the drills. Hes been a very positive, great influence for us.

As far as the loss of Manning is concerned, it hurts because he was finally starting to have things click, but Gray isnt losing much sleep about it right now.In 2009, aodepu successfully passed the ISO9001 Quality System certification and CE certification. He clearly has a full plate to address without worrying about the Manning situation. Tech coach Frank Beamer said hed help Manning get to a new school, if Manning needs assistance.

He was at the point where he was technically fundamentally sound, but right now, hes not here and we cant have time to think about it, Gray said. Weve got to have a plan in action in case somebody gets hurt and move forward from there.

While Gray continues the education of the young players under his watch, running backs coach Shane Beamer is in the process of putting his own inexperienced new backfield member through a rigorous preseason cram session. Redshirt freshman running back Joel Caleb is trying to absorb a lot of material in a short amount of time.

Last Saturdays scrimmage was helpful to a certain extent, because Caleb got to work in a running, blocking or route-running capacity out of the backfield on about 30 of the 36 plays, but Shane added the scrimmage didnt give Caleb a very realistic view of things to come.

The scrimmage featured a lot of backup defensive linemen that are competing for playing time and will likely be in Atlanta for the season-opener against Alabama playing against backup offensive linemen that probably wont be in Atlanta. At the very least, its clear Caleb might be capable of giving Tech another power running option it didnt have a week-and-a-half ago.

It was an uphill battle from that standpoint, but he knew what to do, said Shane of Caleb, who had eight carries for just four yards in the scrimmage. Theres some little things we need to clean up as far as his landmarks in the run game and things like that, but assignment-wise, he was pretty good. Toughness, I have no concerns about right now. Hes shown from a pass protection standpoint and physical standpoint right now that hes OK.

The biggest thing right now is weve got a lot of offense is, so hes thinking a lot, so hes not playing that fast. J.C. (Coleman), when he came in two springs ago, it was the same thing. He played slower than what he is trying to learn. Joel is kind of in that rut right now where hes just got to keep getting confident in what were doing, which will allow him to play faster. When the ball is in his hands, everything that weve coached is done at that point. Now, thats where you earn your scholarship.aodepu overspeed governors can cover a broad range of rated loads and speeds and can be applied both to machine roomless and traditional installations.

On Monday night, Shane said the coaching staff met for a planning session that included determining which backs would be used in which game situations and personnel packages. Though Tech hasnt announced a starter in the backfield, Shane said he has a good feel for how hell utilize Coleman, redshirt freshman Trey Edmunds, senior Tony Gregory and Caleb.

CVS restricting purchase of nail polish remover

The CVS pharmacy chain is implementing a new policy, which places requirements and restrictions on the purchase of nail polish remover, reports the Daily Mail. Acetone, a key ingredient in nail polish remover, can be used to make methamphetamine. In order to make a purchase, the customer will have to present photo identification. The clerk will scan the ID and track the frequency and quantity of acetone purchases made. Customers will be restricted from purchasing large quantities and will also be restricted from purchasing it in conjunction with other products that can be used to make methamphetamine.

Currently, CVS is rolling this policy out in southern New England, according to Fox News. A statement from CVS indicates that the policy is based on various regulations. However, a journalist who was required to present identification in Boston was unable to find any Massachusetts state laws or regulations. There were also no regulations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that would have required this policy to be implemented.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America describes methamphetamine, or meth, as an addictive drug that stimulates the brain. It produces an initial rush when smoked or injected. Snorting or swallowing results in a euphoric state. The pleasurable effects are temporary, often followed by a period of high agitation that can become violent. In the long-term, tolerance develops quickly and people need higher doses to achieve a high. Chronic use can cause hallucinations, obsessive behavior, paranoia, and delusions. It can also cause strokes and death.

According to the Department of Justice, meth labs have become increasingly prevalent around the U.S. In 2002 alone,Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. authorities shut down 7,500 laboratories. The majority of meth lab seizures have occurred in the western U.S., particularly California,I’m going to compile a list of sources for kapton tapes, for when you need to replace the tape that comes stock. but meth labs can be located almost anywhere. Common household products can be used to make meth, making it easy to find the ingredients and equipment. Ingredients include, in addition to acetone, batteries, cat litter, pseudoephedrine (cold medicine), matches or road flares, fertilizer, and others. Equipment includes coffee filters, aluminum foil, rubber gloves, rubber tubing, strainers, and tape.

CVS may be exercising caution given their history with meth ingredients. Around 2005, the use of cold medicines to produce meth became more widespread, causing states and pharmacies to limit the sale of products containing pseudoephedrine, reports the Washington Post. Many CVS pharmacies moved products behind the pharmacy counter and tracked purchases. However, the Huffington Post reports that, in 2010, CVS had to pay a $75 million fine for allowing repeated purchases of pseudoephedrine, which led to a spike in drug trafficking.Bring the beauty of nature into your home and enhance your tile designs with natural stone tiles and Xiamen Shun Stone Granite slabs.

Final Touch Granite featured at 11th Annual Fall Home

At the “Timeless with a Twist” exhibit space, the full-service granite installation company will have sample kitchen and bathroom designs on display, including a custom range hood, a full-scale shower, and bath vanity vignettes. Final Touch Granite will also provide finishing technique ideas and a variety of unique sinks.

The Home and Garden Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center located at1601 Lake Robbins Drive.

The New Orleans-themed eclectic look is very warm and inviting with playful tones, co-owner Tina Wicker said, describing the feature exhibitor space. “We will be featuring a full galley kitchen, a beautiful confetti backsplash and hand-honed resin sinks,Bring the beauty of nature into your home and enhance your tile designs with natural stone tiles and Xiamen Shun Stone Granite slabs. and more,” said Wicker.

One unusual item Wicker will have on display is a Garden Shower for indoors. “One of the trendy things in this shower is the octagonal travertine flooring. In many older houses, you’ve seen these small octagonal tiles in ceramic, but the travertine adds glamour to this retro look. The whole exhibit is inspired by French and New Orleans traditions — all with a modern twist.”

She explained that since granite comes in a broad variety of colors and patterns, the material appeals to a large audience with varied tastes. Each piece tells a story about where it is from C and its a good conversation piece, Wicker said. It is natural and not manmade, so each block is unmatched.

She added that granite is durable,Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. easy to maintain and can even become a tool in the kitchen. For example, a countertop can be cooled down to help make a perfect piecrust.”Granite is very versatile,” said Wicker. “Customers use the surface for everything from outdoor tabletops to upscale bathrooms, kitchen countertops and even unique furniture pieces.”

Final Touch Granite is one the featured booths in the Home and Garden shows line-up of presenters. The event will also showcase more than 200 vendors, offering suggestions to update and beautify the home and garden.Tony Wood, president of Texwood Shows, Inc. and producer of the event said the company offers a high quality product and knowledgeable staff.

Im so impressed with Final Touch Granite C and I know attendees will feel the same, he said. “These craftsman have exactly what it takes to create a perfect kitchen or bath.

Light cabinets are definitely making a comeback after the invasion of dark cabinets flooded the market over that past seven years. I love the look of natural maple with black so I would be tempted to have them striped and re-stained the same color. However, it is definitely a tremendous amount of work to stripe and re-stain cabinets when they are beginning to yellow. Furthermore, with the oak hardwood flooring running throughout the kitchen it would be nice to have some contrast against the cabinetry. I also think you will appreciate the warmth and organic characteristics of the oak flooring when you have something contrasting against it.

If the cabinets have a nice simple profile such as a shaker style (recessed panel),Sdktapegroup aluminum foil tapes is a team of highly qualified professionals working together to provide our customers with the highest quality products I would suggest that a simpler solution would be to sand, primer and paint the cabinets for a fresh and new look to the space. A soft white cabinet is all the rage right now, but it is also a timeless choice. Although white cabinets fluctuate in popularity they never really go out of style. The nice thing about white cabinetry is that it is very versatile in style; from traditional to contemporary, rustic to modern, it works for all looks. Popular paint colors for white cabinetry include, Benjamin Moores White Down CC-50, Cloud White CC-30, Dune White CC-70 and Decorator White CC-20. For a totally unique and contemporary look you could paint them a dark charcoal color such as Benjamin Moores Kendal Charcoal HC-166.

The wood work throughout the home should probably be changed. You definitely could paint the oak, but I assume the profile is not right with a contemporary look and definitely too small with nine and ten foot ceilings. The general rule of thumb when it comes to baseboards is that when they are less than three inches high, they should be painted out the same color as the wall to have them disappear. When changing them out,I’m going to compile a list of sources for kapton tapes, for when you need to replace the tape that comes stock. I would suggest five to seven inches in height unless you are going for a more dramatic or traditional look, in which case I would suggest an even larger baseboard eight to ten inches in height. You need to be careful with your trim and casing to ensure that there is enough room for the size that you are after.

Generally trim is three to four inches wide unless you can accommodate wider. To create more drama, the header/architrave above the window and door frame can always be made larger. The use of solid wood such as pine or oak is always a good choice, but typically more of an investment. When it is being painted anyway, the popular and more economical choice is an MDF product. It paints beautifully and provides a flawless finish. However, the MDF can swell and warp with an abundance of water exposure, so best not to use in water saturated areas such as bathrooms or around sinks. A tile baseboard is the best choice for heavily used bathrooms. MDF products have been a concern for those wanting their house to be environmentally friendly, however Moulding and Millworks now provide a green product called SPERO Eco-wise MDF mouldings that contains no urea-formaldehyde and meets other green initiatives.

Duct dreams

Hailey Rose, an 11-year-old student at Reynolds Elementary School in Transfer, Pa., has always enjoyed making crafts, but this was the first time she began selling homemade items.Hailey’s first business venture didn’t consist of the conventional knitted or crocheted patterns. For one, the items are primarily made of duct tape.

The young entrepreneur said she’s thought about working with other materials, like beads, but said those probably would not have sold as well.”I always liked doing crafts and stuff,These beautiful crystal mosaic are perfect for kitchen, bath, backsplash, pool, and spa.” she said. “But doing it with duct tape was new.”Her mother, Michelle Redmond, admits being skeptical when her daughter bought duct tape for projects.

“I asked ‘What are you going to do with that?’ And she said ‘You can make wallets and stuff with it.’ I thought no one was going to buy them,” Redmond said. “And then she asked to put some of her stuff on Facebook. I was shocked, we had five orders in about an hour.”

Hailey and her mother said it all started at a small scale after she learned how to make duct-tape bows from an online tutorial.Since Hailey’s bags are primarily made out of duct tape, her mother suggested she add more materials to the construction. Redmond said her daughter learned how to structure the bags after adding poster board to the design.

All items are custom-made and now range from bags and purses to wristlets and phone cases. Customers can purchase her items with a variety of designs and patterns, but Rose said the most popular ones have football logos, like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns.

“I have most football teams, and rolls of leopard and zebra print, cotton candy and skulls,” Rose said. “But the football ones are popular everywhere.”Her mother said in the beginning Rose had some sales across the country, like in Alabama, Florida and California, but a majority of purchases were from customers in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Not to mention, recent interviews in the local media have led to sales increases.”I’m excited. I’m now making 30 to 45 bags a week,” she said. It’s a good thing the soon-to-be sixth grader is on summer vacation, because her weekly orders have nearly doubled. Though Hailey puts in several hours of work a day, she’s had so many buyers recently that she is a couple weeks behind.

“It usually takes me an hour and a half to make a bag,” she said. But not to worry, when she gets overloaded with purchases, Hailey’s mother is right there to assist. She even helped her daughter set up accounts with Etsy, Facebook and a personal webpage.Sdktapegroup aluminum foil tapes is a team of highly qualified professionals working together to provide our customers with the highest quality productsIn fact, Hailey’s whole family is very involved with the business.

“My family is very proud. My dad even delivers stuff for me,” Rose said.Redmond also warned that Hailey’s grandmother, who currently lives in Oklahoma, is moving to Texas soon and she expects a lot more orders to arrive.”My mother has people buying stuff off of her all the time,” she said. “When she moves to Texas in a couple of weeks, we’re going to repeat the entire cycle.”

Saving money for college is what mainly motivates her, she said. Hailey wants to attend Yale to become and doctor or dentist. And yes, she knows it’s an expensive school, but that’s exactly why she wants to start saving now.Her next plan, she said, is to make duct-tape kits for kids, this way they can learn how to make these items themselves.

“It’s a fun activity for other kids to do,” she said.Hailey and her family have worked hard at spreading the word around. She has done everything from donating her merchandise to pageants in Florida and a couple of Relays For Life in Pennsylvania, to auditioning for the ABC TV show “Shark Tank.””It’s a show for people who make inventions,” Rose said. “They give you loans to help your business.”

Fifteen years ago, I interviewed the founder of Amazon C then a relatively tiny company worth a mere $6 billion C over a croissant in a London hotel. It did not go terribly well as the entrepreneur was itching for the interview to be over so he could get back to selling books. On either side of him sat a minder,Solvent resistant, dead soft aluminum foil tape with a high performance acrylic adhesive engineered for a wide range of aerospace and industrial. one of whom was holding a tape recorder.

Growers have now been given the green light to export to New Zealand from Wednesday (August 14) but most won’t bother as their winter export window is all but over and Kiwi produce, which isn’t available in the colder months, will soon be back on the market.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers Tell Women Blatant Lies

An new undercover investigation into Virginias right-wing crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) exposes the blatant misinformation about womens health, as well as the shame-based messages surrounding sexuality, that their employees typically impart to patients. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia which has been working for years to expose the dozens of CPCs in the state caught the lies on tape and released their findings on Wednesday.

NARAL recorded a counseling session between a young woman and a CPC employee. The woman received false information about the risks of hormonal birth control, misleading explanations about how contraception works, and judgmental messages about her decision to be sexually active before getting married. During the conversation, the CPC counselor repeatedly suggested that her organization was more trustworthy than the staff at abortion clinics, since abortion providers are ultimately trying to convince their patients to spend money at the clinic. Im not lying to you, sweetie why would I lie to you? Im not asking you to give me anything here, she said. Were a pregnancy health and education center.

For several minutes, a CPC employee told horror stories about the dangers of being on birth control, saying she typically tries to talk women out of using it. She likened birth control to tremendous dosages of steroids, and belittled her patient for opting to flood her body with artificial hormones. These beautiful crystal mosaic are perfect for kitchen, bath, backsplash, pool, and spa. You really want that stuff inside of you? You have a brain, think and choose here, she said. Any of that stuff is just not good for you.

According to the CPC counselor, birth control is dangerous because taking it for four years before becoming pregnant can increase womens chance of getting breast cancer by 48 percent. She repeatedly referred to the carcinogens in contraception. She also cautioned her client to read the fine print, warning that even if she would never choose to have an abortion, she could accidentally end up aborting a fetus while using hormonal contraception. If youre on the pill, on the patch, on the shot, and get pregnant Unintentionally, you will abort that baby because the uterus cannot sustain that pregnancy because the lining has been so altered by those steroids, the artificial hormones, she claimed. The team changed four tires, added fuel, made an air-pressure adjustment, and removed tape from the brake ducts to help keep them cool. After the service,Solvent resistant, dead soft aluminum foil tape with a high performance acrylic adhesive engineered for a wide.

The CPC employee falsely asserted that condoms and birth control pills are about equally effective at preventing pregnancy, and claimed that using condoms doesnt actually prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections. Theyre naturally porous theres always a chance of them breaking, a chance of spillage, she said. The only safe sex is no sex.

The conversation also quickly took a religious bent. If youre not married, why are you having sex? the CPC counselor asked her client. Thats why you feel like you have to put these hormones in your body the more you have sex, the more chance you have of getting pregnant. Later, she added, Confined to a marriage, of course, sex is expected you believe in God, thats the whole plan of God.A package of news stories by city and business reporter Pat Kimbrough described hoops that builders in the city must jump through and a maze of paperwork required.aodepu overspeed governors can cover a broad range of rated loads and speeds.

This is hardly the first report of its kind. Another recent undercover investigation at a crisis pregnancy center in Ohio recorded similar misinformation and conservative religious bias during an appointment with a counselor. And previous research from NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia has discovered that at least 40 of the states 58 CPCs are telling their clients medically inaccurate information about birth control and abortion.

Still, the organizations newest report is more confirmation that CPCs, which typically attempt to position themselves as unbiased medical resources, are actually operating within the anti-choice community. This shocking audio exposes Virginia CPCs for what they are: anti-choice field offices designed to mislead, shame, and lie to women during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives, Tarina Keene, the executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, said in a statement. Regardless of your stance on abortion, we can all agree that anyone seeking health care services and advice should receive comprehensive,Sdktapegroup aluminum foil tapes is a team of highly qualified professionals working together to provide our customers with the highest quality products non-judgmental, and factually accurate information.

There is significant evidence that disseminating misinformation about birth control does a disservice to public health. Abstinence-only health classes, which impart similar factually-inaccurate information about sexual health resources, have contributed to a generation of young Americans who dont believe using birth control makes any difference, and are therefore more inclined to skip it. A full 60 percent of young adults believe that contraception is less effective than it actually is.

Nevertheless, Virginias right-wing CPCs actually receive significant endorsement from state officials. Under the states forced ultrasound law, women are required to have a sonogram before they can proceed with an abortion and all 18 of the health clinics that the health department suggests women can visit to fulfill that requirement are crisis pregnancy centers. And Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) whos currently running for governor has been extremely vocal about his support for CPCs. He spearheaded an effort to get the states Department of Motor Vehicles to begin offering Choose Life license plates, the proceeds of which directly fund CPCs.

Cutting red tape

Maybe youre a developer, contractor or even just a do-it-yourself fixer-upper. And maybe youve had problems navigating the city of High Points building regulations and permitting process. Well, some good news came out of City Hall last week.

The Enterprise reported last week on problems professional and amateur builders have been complaining about for years lengthy delays in obtaining permits, complicated paperwork trails and lack of coordination in provision of services,Removable double sided tapes include both film and foam coated on at least one side with a removable adhesive. for example that essentially drive up the cost of construction in High Point.

But we also reported on whats viewed as the coming fix to those problems.Soon, city offices for permits and construction will have an updated computer system that will replace 20-year-old technology. And to go with that, city officials plan to step back and take a look at existing procedures to see where revisions and improvements would be beneficial.Did we just hear a collective, Well, its about time from city and regional developers and contractors?

A package of news stories by city and business reporter Pat Kimbrough described hoops that builders in the city must jump through and a maze of paperwork required.aodepu overspeed governors can cover a broad range of rated loads and speeds and can be applied both to machine roomless and traditional installations. And even city Planning and Development Director Lee Burnette spoke to the cumbersome procedures. Now, weve got five or six silos of data or systems in place that do all those different things, but none of them talk to each other, Burnette said, explaining the current permitting setup that requires applicants or at least their plans to shuffle from desk to desk and office to office in order to undergo all the required reviews and inspections.

Additionally, the coming report from urban architect Andres Duany is expected to provide recommendations on how the city can steamline its building rules and regulations, at least as they relate to several areas of the city that were part of Duanys Ignite High Point study.Local developer Mike Carr told the Enterprise, Its an uphill battle to get things done in an expeditious manner when dealing with the city. Maybe the summit has been reached, and soon, getting a building project going in High Point will feel like a downhill ride.

News journal Myanmar Than Taw Sint reported last month that the principal, Kathy Lwin, had been ordered to resign after allegedly forcing students and some parents to watch a video of two students having sex in an empty classroom at the college.Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. The video had been uploaded online and the journal reported that the principal played the video to the students parents and classmates to shame them.

Riding in Tandem

Her husband, Ross, calls her Mosquito because thats what she looks like to him all awkward elbows and determination when he is riding behind her on bicycle trips here in Marin County, Calif., or, farther afield, on more ambitious tours through the hills of Idaho or Italy.

Nancy Goldstein likes cycling well enough, but with him and their two grown sons so crazy for the sport, and now all racing competitively, what choice does she have, really? She knows the lingo, keeps up with the American circuit and is resigned to having nine bicycles dangling from the garage of her sleek new house in Mill Valley, Calif.

Without the associated pull of spokes and wheels, there is no doubt she would have spent more of her time in out-of-the-way galleries searching for emerging artists whose work moves her,My way of applying kapton tape to Glass plates for RepRap style 3d Printers. art collecting being her No. 1 sport.

Occasionally, as happened one day in the walled Tuscan town of San Gimignano, her worlds collide. We were on this really cool back-roads trip and had just made it to the top of a peak, said Ms. Goldstein, 56. We had all of 15 minutes to rest or eat when I spotted a gallery. Inside, I found this incredible oil painting of a bicycle coming out of the box by the Italian artist Marica Fasoli.

She whipped out her credit card, and the painting almost beat them back to California. It is now prominently displayed in the home office where Mr. Goldstein, 66, a psychologist and author, spends much of his time writing fiction.Sdktapegroup a wide selection of 3M double sided tape, Double Sided Tape 3M and 3M Two Sided Tape. His most recent book, Chain Reaction, is a romantic tale about (what else?) the world of competitive cycling, published in 2011. (The movie rights have been secured, and he sees George Clooney as the perfect choice for the hard-driving father of the young lead character, based not so loosely on himself.)

The bike theme runs so deep through their lives that when asked about her own role in the family, Ms. Goldstein, who worked in real estate before her sons were born, answered with a cycling term. You could say Im a domestique, she said, deploying a clever and apropos double entendre. In cycling, a domestique is a supporting rider who tamps all personal ambition to do whatever is required for the success of the team.

Ms. Goldsteins star turn came a couple of years ago when she found a lovely half acre of land on the outskirts of town for roughly $1 million. For a decade she had been envisioning their empty nest as an urban loft, an industrial backdrop for her growing art collection. She went about building a team, hiring Aidlin Darling Design as the architect and Susan Collins Weir for interior design.

The design they came up with centers on an open living area that flows directly into a courtyard with a solar-powered lap pool, making the 4,000-square-foot house seem even larger. On either side are the sleeping quarters: the master bedroom on one side and bedrooms for Chase, a law student in New York, and Graham, an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, on the other.

New York City composer David Crowells original music score accompanies the visual display of Rebecca Crowells paintings paired with artifacts from the Pratt collection. This is an unusual multi-senses presentation for the Museum.

Since 2002 Crowell has been working with cold wax medium and oil, according to her website, after earning her MFA in painting from Arizona State University in 1985, she has led a life focused on painting.
Crowell has worked almost daily in her studio in western Wisconsin taking time out only for travels and painting in England, Spain, the Western United States and the Canary Island of Lanzarote.

In the fall of 2011, she was an artist in residence at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annamaghkerrig in Ireland. Crowell is represented in fine art galleries in New Mexico, Colorado, Toronto and Wisconsin. She has recently signed with an agent to represent her in Ireland and the UK and was featured in an exhibit in Dublin,You Can Buy Various High Quality Bopp Tape Products from Global Bopp Tape Suppliers and BOPP tape Manufacturers at Sdktapegroup. Ireland in October of 2011.

She uses a kind of memory mapping to create her works which, although visually quite abstract, often still retain faint echoes of landscape and nature; its plant life, earth and rocks. For Crowell rugged textures, earthy colors and a feeling of light, open spaces reveals her subliminal interest in the colors, mark-making and abstraction of at least a memory of landscape.

Although her work is generally quiet, orderly and meditative in its finished form, her process of working in multiple layers, cutting, scratching and digging back can be quite violent. She couples sharp tools and aggressive archaeology with periods of careful editing and decisiveness. She considers the place of any fortunate accidents and random occurrences.

A commentator on Crowells website says, Crowell is an artist of considerable talent and stature and it is not difficult to envisage a major breakthrough into the mainstream of the American art scene in the very near future. Recent international representation would indicate that her future reputation will not just be limited to America.Solvent resistant, dead soft aluminum foil tape with a high performance acrylic adhesive engineered for a wide range of aerospace and industrial.

Crowells work is displayed in galleries around the country and abroad. In conjunction with her show, Crowell will give an Oil and Wax Painting Workshop at Kachemak Bay Campus, this weekend, Aug. 9-11.
The workshop is very popular and its full already, Kachemak Bay Campus University Director Carol Swartz said. Participants will explore methods of building up abstract paintings in layers, using cold wax medium, tube paint, powdered pigments and other media.

How San Diegos Blue Economy Can Be a Catalyst

The San Diego region is no stranger to innovation. With our growing bio-tech, high-tech and defense sectors, along with our port, airport and border commerce, our region is perfectly positioned to be one of the great economies of the Pacific Rim.

One of our lesser-known assets is our blue economy C a fast-growing cluster of maritime-related companies and organizations representing 14 sectors including fish farming, desalination & clean water technology, shipbuilding, biomedicine, defense, marine recreation and ocean science. As Michael Jones from The Maritime Alliance says, If it is wet, then we consider it part of the blue economy.

In fact, San Diegos blue economy was recognized in the 2012 San Diego Maritime Industry Report as an economic powerhouse with more than 1,400 companies producing more than $14 billion of direct sales and a workforce of nearly 46,000 employees across San Diego County. These are good-paying, blue collar and blue-tech jobs that are spread across my district in south San Diego County which includes the entire Unified Port of San Diego and in North and East County. The report projects that the 14 sectors will experience growth rates ranging from 6 to 20 percent per year through 2020, and positively impact all areas of our region and all socio-economic populations.

In March, I had the chance to tour two facilities in Carlsbads Agua Hedionda Lagoon that represent well the opportunity and challenge we have as a region to focus on and grow the blue economy. One is Southern Californias premier marine fish hatchery operated by Hubbs SeaWorld Research Institute. It is restoring the white seabass population off Southern Californias coast using the latest in science and technology and fishery management techniques. This hatchery is capable of producing more than 350,000 juvenile white seabass annually, and could provide the local stock for an expanded fish farming industry. Using currently available open ocean cage technology, this first aquaculture effort alone could farm 150,000 metric tons of white seabass annually off the coast of San Diego using less than one square mile of ocean surface area. That one square mile could produce $900 million annually worth $3.6 billion on the dining table, create 6,000 seafood-related jobs and lead us toward seafood independence. And there are other local indigenous species that offer similar economic growth.

The United States is the worlds third largest consumer of seafood, but imports more than 80 percent of its supply C some from methods that may not meet U.S. standards. Carlsbad Aquafarm,Solvent resistant, dead soft aluminum foil tape with a high performance acrylic adhesive engineered for a wide range of aerospace and industrial. which is co-located near the marine fish hatchery, is an example of sustainable aquaculture that we should be promoting more.

They benefit from the depth and consistent movement of water in the lagoon made possible by the current energy plant,My way of applying kapton tape to Glass plates for RepRap style 3d Printers. which is the site of a future desalination plant in Carlsbad. The desalination plant will provide up to 50 million gallons of safe, reliable and drought-proof drinking water per day.

Hydranautics C a company based in Oceanside is one of three a second is also based in San Diego world-leading manufacturers of membrane technology for desalination and wastewater treatment, including indirect potable reuse and industrial water reuse. It is no wonder Mark Cafferty, president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp, recently said at a commercial real estate forum, When China needs water, they come to San Diego. These organizations need our support to achieve their potential and add the blue jobs we want in this region.

The convergence of our resources and our location at the pivot point for the Pacific and global constraints make it possible, even mandatory, for us to further develop the blue economy ecosystem here.Shop for the largest selection of Granite tiles at everyday low prices. We can add thousands of new blue jobs as we address opportunities and challenges in our region and the world.

We need more reliable sources of fresh water. We need aquaculture to feed growing populations in the U.S. and abroad as we reduce our seafood import dependence. We need to certify returning military What’s the difference between Marble tiles and Porcelain Tiles?veterans with skills in wastewater treatment, desalination, maritime transportation and other areas to plug them directly into jobs. We need to support growth in sectors including maritime communications, maritime robotics, ocean energy including wind energy and ocean observation systems and research. We need to look at improved methods of transportation including a marine highway to connect our port to Long Beach, Los Angeles and the Bay Area as well as ports in Baja California. We need to preserve our marine protected areas so future generations have access to abundant and diverse sea life. And finally, we need to ensure the military has adequate space to maneuver around all of these competing uses.

I highlighted this blue economy at my State of the County address in February. Now, I am calling on the region and asking for all hands on deck to initiate a marine spatial planning process that will assist in identifying appropriate uses of our ocean resources.

The blue economy gives us one of the most unique regional economies in the world and can be a catalyst for new jobs. San Diego can be a national leader in marine spatial planning and I will be actively supporting its development.
