Intervention would be a grave mistake

he United States put Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on notice on Monday that it believes he was responsible for using chemical weapons against civilians last week in what Secretary of State John Kerry called a “moral obscenity.””President Obama believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world’s most heinous weapons against the world’s most vulnerable people,” Kerry said in the most forceful U.S. reaction yet to the Aug. 21 attack.

Speaking after U.N. chemical weapons experts came under sniper fire on their way to investigate the scene of the attack, White House spokesman Jay Carney said the use of chemical weapons was undeniable and “there is very little doubt in our mind that the Syrian regime is culpable.”Kerry said Obama was consulting with allies before he decides on how to respond.

“What we saw in Syria last week should shock the conscience of the world,” Kerry told reporters.”The indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the killing of women and children and innocent bystanders by chemical weapons is a moral obscenity. By any standard, it is inexcusable. And despite the excuses and equivocations that some have manufactured, it is undeniable.”

Military chiefs from the United States and its European and Middle Eastern allies met in Jordan for what could be a council of war, should they decide to punish Assad, who has denied using chemical weapons and blamed rebels for staging such attacks. Many hundreds of people died in Damascus suburbs in what appears to have been the worst chemical weapons attack since Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein fatally gassed thousands of Kurds in 1988.

U.N. investigators crossed the front line from the centre of the capital, which remains under Assad’s control, to inspect the Mouadamiya suburb, one of at least four neighbourhoods hit by the poison gas before dawn last Wednesday. The United Nations said one vehicle in its convoy was crippled by gunshots fired by “unidentified snipers.” The team continued on after turning back for a replacement car.Syrian state television blamed rebel “terrorists” for the shooting. The opposition blamed pro-Assad militiamen.

“I am with the team now,” a doctor who uses the name Abu Karam told Reuters by telephone from Mouadamiya. “We are in the Rawda mosque and they are meeting with the wounded. Our medics and the inspectors are talking to the patients and taking samples from the victims now.”Wassim al-Ahmad, an opposition activist, said members of the Free Syrian Army umbrella rebel organisation and the opposition’s Mouadamiya Local Council were accompanying the inspectors on their tour of the suburb.”The inspectors are now examining victims being treated at a makeshift hospital in Mouadamiya and are taking blood samples from them,” Ahmad said.

They shook hands with men who appeared to be rebels wearing camouflage vests, and were accompanied by doctors and residents. The group descended into the basement of a building where they were told injured survivors were being treated to protect them from more shelling. Another video showed an inspector interviewing a patient and taking notes.

Activists say at least 80 people were killed in Mouadamiya when the district was hit with poison gas. Hundreds of people also were killed in three other rebel-held districts – Irbin, Ain Tarma and Jobar. An opposition activist said a large crowd of people gathered to air their grievances to the U.N. inspectors,Sdktapegroup aluminum foil tapes is a team of highly qualified professionals working together to provide our customers with the highest quality products who planned to take samples from corpses.

The inspectors later returned to their hotel and, within an hour, residents reported the shelling of Mouadamiya had resumed. The decision to proceed with the mission despite coming under attack thwarted an apparent attempt to halt the inspectors’ work before it began.

“The first vehicle of the Chemical Weapons Investigation Team was deliberately shot at multiple times by unidentified snipers in the buffer zone area,” the United Nations said in a statement. “It has to be stressed again that all sides need to extend their cooperation so that the team can safely carry out their important work.”

The inspectors had been stuck in a downtown hotel since the attack, waiting five days for government permission to visit the scene a few miles away. They had arrived three days before the incident, with a mandate to investigate earlier reports of more limited chemical weapons use.

Kerry said Assad’s decision to finally allow access was too late to be credible. “That is not the behaviour of a government that has nothing to hide,” Kerry said, adding that Assad’s forces had also destroyed evidence by shelling the area.

“Our sense of basic humanity is offended not only by this cowardly crime, but also by the cynical attempt to cover it up,” Kerry said.

He said the U.N. inspectors could at most confirm that chemical weapons were used, not who used them, but that it was Assad’s government that has such weapons and the means of delivering them. He said Washington had additional information on the attack that it would make known soon.

Washington and its allies say they worry that the time that has elapsed, and continuous shelling by Assad’s forces of the affected areas,Removable double sided tapes include both film and foam coated on at least one side with a removable adhesive. could make it impossible for the inspectors to collect evidence. The United Nations said Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was confident the team could get the data it needs.

Speculation has been mounting that Western countries will order some kind of military response to an incident that took place a year after Obama declared the use of chemical weapons a “red line” that would require strong action.

Two suspects arrested in Johnston double homicide

Two suspects in the Johnston double homicide were arrested Sunday in Fall River and Providence.A 2-year-old boy abducted from the murder scene has not been found, and an Amber Alert remains in force for the boy, identified as Isaiah Perez.”I would hope whoever is with the child would turn him over to authorities,” said Johnston Deputy Chief Daniel Parrillo, who added that police believe the 2-year-old is somewhere in Rhode Island.

Parrillo would not discuss the identities of the two adults slain in the house at 3 Oaktree Drive. He did say that there were three children in the house at the time of the murders. The first suspect arrested, Malcolm W. Crowell of Providence, was first identified in a national Amber Alert as the suspect in the murders and the abduction. Later, the Associated Press, citing the Massachusetts State Police,Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. said that Crowell was not involved in the child’s disappearance. At 5:30 p.m., he was no longer listed as a suspect in the Amber Alert.

Police said the second suspect, Daniel Rodriguez, also of Providence, was arrested on Smith Street in Providence. Parrillo said the two men now in custody were “being treated as suspects in the double murder and the abduction.”

An Amber Alert was issued by the police after the murders were discovered early Sunday. Neighbors reported seeing a dark-colored car, said Johnston Deputy Chief Parrillo. Two-year-old Isaiah is described as 3-foot-4 and 40 pounds.Parrillo would not identify the two victims or say how they were killed, but said they were dead when police arrived at the home. Neighbors called police around 5 a.m., Parillo said.

Police blocked off the neighborhood near the scene.Crowell had some relation to the family, but authorities would not comment on the connection until the boy is found, Parrillo said. A nationwide alert has gone out to other law-enforcement agencies, he said. These beautiful crystal mosaic are perfect for kitchen, bath, backsplash, pool, and spa.At a 5:30 p.m. press conference, Deputy Chief Parrillo said police believe the child is in Rhode Island, based on interviews with the two suspects.

The neighborhood was still blocked off at 4 p.m., and investigators could be seen dusting for fingerprints around a second-floor balcony. Neighbors along Shore Drive on Sunday reacted with fear and shock to a double murder and kidnapping just a street away.”It’s very scary. I’m just in shock,” said Jena Dimeo, who rents a home from her aunt.

She held her 18-month-old daughter while police investigators combed the yard and gray two-story house nearby. It’s a family-friendly neighborhood where neighbors know each other, Dimeo said.Monique Rodrigues, who lives on Hilltop Drive, returned from a family vacation to discover police and yellow crime-scene tape two streets from her home.”It’s definitely nerve-wracking,” said Rodrigues, as she held her young daughter, Milania. The government has also announced a feasibility study to look at creating a new national cycleway broadly following the route of the HS2 rail line from London to Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.Ministers hope to emulate nationwide the popularity of cycling in London – where the number of cyclists has doubled over the past 10 years, according to one estimate.

“But pedal outside the city and the picture’s very different,I’m going to compile a list of sources for kapton tapes, for when you need to replace the tape that comes stock.” said BBC transport correspondent Richard Westcott. “Far more people prefer to drive, walk or catch the bus – in fact government statistics show that in 2012, just 2% of journeys in Britain were by bike.”

“We welcome the recognition that for the cycling revolution to become a way of life for us all this level of investment must be maintained and extended to all parts of the UK, including rural areas.”

But shadow transport secretary Maria Eagle said: “No amount of cynical spin from David Cameron will make up for the fact that, immediately on taking office, he axed Cycle England, the Cycle Demonstration Towns scheme and the annual 60m budget to support cycling that he inherited.Removable double sided tapes include both film and foam coated on at least one side with a removable adhesive.

“Since then he has axed targets to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roads, reduced traffic enforcement, cut the THINK! awareness campaign and allowed longer HGVs.

“Only last month the prime minister set out plans for Britain’s roads that failed to include a single commitment to the investment in separated cycling infrastructure that is the best way to boost cycling and make it safer.”

Cutting red tape

Maybe youre a developer, contractor or even just a do-it-yourself fixer-upper. And maybe youve had problems navigating the city of High Points building regulations and permitting process. Well, some good news came out of City Hall last week.

The Enterprise reported last week on problems professional and amateur builders have been complaining about for years lengthy delays in obtaining permits, complicated paperwork trails and lack of coordination in provision of services,Removable double sided tapes include both film and foam coated on at least one side with a removable adhesive. for example that essentially drive up the cost of construction in High Point.

But we also reported on whats viewed as the coming fix to those problems.Soon, city offices for permits and construction will have an updated computer system that will replace 20-year-old technology. And to go with that, city officials plan to step back and take a look at existing procedures to see where revisions and improvements would be beneficial.Did we just hear a collective, Well, its about time from city and regional developers and contractors?

A package of news stories by city and business reporter Pat Kimbrough described hoops that builders in the city must jump through and a maze of paperwork required.aodepu overspeed governors can cover a broad range of rated loads and speeds and can be applied both to machine roomless and traditional installations. And even city Planning and Development Director Lee Burnette spoke to the cumbersome procedures. Now, weve got five or six silos of data or systems in place that do all those different things, but none of them talk to each other, Burnette said, explaining the current permitting setup that requires applicants or at least their plans to shuffle from desk to desk and office to office in order to undergo all the required reviews and inspections.

Additionally, the coming report from urban architect Andres Duany is expected to provide recommendations on how the city can steamline its building rules and regulations, at least as they relate to several areas of the city that were part of Duanys Ignite High Point study.Local developer Mike Carr told the Enterprise, Its an uphill battle to get things done in an expeditious manner when dealing with the city. Maybe the summit has been reached, and soon, getting a building project going in High Point will feel like a downhill ride.

News journal Myanmar Than Taw Sint reported last month that the principal, Kathy Lwin, had been ordered to resign after allegedly forcing students and some parents to watch a video of two students having sex in an empty classroom at the college.Dedicated to the manufacturing of pressure sensitive BOPP tapes with different supports. The video had been uploaded online and the journal reported that the principal played the video to the students parents and classmates to shame them.

A lecturer at the university, Daw Theingi Ait, dismissed the report as a rumour and said the principal had not been forced to resign. Mg Kyaw Zin Htet, a second year mechanical engineering student, said the students had not been pressured by the university to hold the press conference. No officials were involved in this media briefing. We are just doing it as students of Thanlyin Technological University, he said, adding that they were still waiting for a response from the journal to their demand for an apology.

But an editor from the journal said it would not apologise and it had a recording of an interview to back up its version of events. Our report is the truth and we have the recording of an official from the Yangon Region government, the editor said.Yangon Region Minister for Forestry and Energy U Kyaw Soe said the government had not told the journal the principal had resigned.

He added that it could not comment on issues related to Thanlyin Technology University because it is administered by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Nay Pyi Taw.
